The Golden Dream cocktail is made with Cointreau, orange juice, heavy cream, and Galliano L’Autentico liqueur.
Galliano L’Autentico is a golden-yellow herbal liqueur that originated in Italy. It is renowned for its distinctive flavor profile, which includes a blend of herbs, spices, and botanicals. The liqueur is named after Arturo Vaccari, the inventor of the original Galliano, and it is often referred to simply as “Galliano”.
The Golden Dream cocktail is an esteemed member of the “after-dinner” category and graced the cocktail scene with its presence during the cultural zenith of the 60s and 70s. The creation of this drink can be traced to the revered Old King Bar in Miami, where the deft hands of Raimundo Alvarez first crafted it.
A crowning moment in the cocktail’s narrative unfolded when it found itself dedicated to the illustrious actress Joan Crawford. This homage to the Hollywood icon bestowed an air of glamour upon the Golden Dream, solidifying its popularity as the preferred choice for sophisticated imbibing. It was during the twilight of the 1960s and 1970s that the cocktail, dedicated to Joan Crawford, reached its peak, becoming very popular on the east coast of the United States.
