Tommy Bahama produces two rum varieties, “White Sand” (~$29.99) which is aged a minimum of two years and “Golden Sun” (~29.99) which is aged a minimum of three years. The rum is produced with natural ingredients including: blackstrap molasses, coral-filtered water and yeast.
Tommy Bahama is fermented in small batches, distilled in column and pot stills to increase complexity and flavors then aged in small bourbon casks at low strength; there are no added sugars or flavors. Tommy Bahama is crafted in Barbados by R.L. Seale, a family-owned and operated distillery with four generations of experience.
Tommy Bahama, a brand of tropical clothing, launched its own brand of rum in 2007 and enlisted the help of R.L. Seale Distillery to produce two rum varieties: “White Sand” and “Golden Sun.” Tommy Bahama is being produced at the Foursquare Rum Distillery in Barbados.
Opened in 1996, Foursquare Rum Distillery is located in Barbados on a site that occupied an abandoned sugar factory. The facility is the first on the island to be certified under the internationally recognized quality management system known as ISO 9001:2000. The distillery is electronically controlled and all important processes are monitored and managed by computers.
In May of 2008, the Foursquare Rum Distillery opened their own bottling plant attached to their distilery to replace the obsolete plant located off site. The new bottling plant is 48,000-square feet, purpose built facility that can turn out one million cases of Tommy Bahama rum per year. Foursquare is an R.L. Seale Distillery, a company that has been crafting rum for 80-years and produces other R.L Seale brands as well, including ESAF White Rum, Doorly's XO and Foursquare Spiced Rum.
